Description

Business Meeting 1: Discussion on the draft statute

Participants received a draft statute revised in part based on the discussions from the World Cities CIO Forum 2009, which includes the election/ approval process of president/ vice president cities, organization of executive committee, and other issues related to the management of WeGO.

Business Meeting 2: Discussion on the future development of WeGO

Participants discussed on how WeGO should be managed and about projects the organization can put up in the future.

Meeting Memorandum

The founding Executive members of the World e-Governments Organization who attend the Executive Committee meeting held in Seoul, the capital of the Republic of Korea from June 7 to 8, 2010,

 

Completing the discussions on the overall agenda concerning the inauguration of the World e-Governments Organization,

 

Convinced that the exchanges and cooperation among cities and local governments around the world will advance the sustainable urban development and improve the quality of life for citizens,

 

Committed to the active cooperation and collaboration for the sustainable development of the World e-Governments Organization inaugurating in Seoul during the Inaugural General Assembly on September 6-8, 2010,

 

Have agreed as follows:

 

1.     The founding Executive members have carefully reviewed the draft Statute and prepared its final draft due to be proposed for approval at the Inaugural General Assembly to be held on September 6-8, 2010.

2.     The founding Executive members have discussed the founding chair group of the World e-Governments Organization and agreed to nominate cities to particular positions as below.

·         The potential candidate for founding President City is Seoul.

·         The potential candidate for founding Chief Vice President City is Barcelona.

·         The potential candidates for founding Vice President Cities are Abu Dhabi, Beijing, Frankfurt, Nairobi, Paris, Sao PauloSan Francisco, and Quebec.

3. The potential candidate host city of the Executive Committee meeting 2011 is Barcelona.

4. Official Name and Emblem of the Organization is as below.
