Porto Alegre's Datapoa was one of the highlights during the workshop on "Open Government for Collaborative Governance", held on November 4 during the 3rd WeGO General Assembly in Chengdu, China.

The open data portal of Porto Alegre, Brazil was presented by the coordinator of #POAdigital, Thiago Ribiero, to an audience comprised of government officials, urban experts, academia, and the private sector. "In addition to sharing our experience in Porto Algere, we had the opportunity to meet other initiatives related to open data implemented in countries such as Germany, South Korea, Russia, Philippines, India, and Turkey. It was actually a very rich and intense exchange of ideas", said Ribiero, noting the positive feedback from participants. "After the workshop, we were approached by several participants interested in implementing similar projects in their cities. We are very happy to inspire other communities to join the open data movement", he concluded.
